length,&nbsp;which lives in temperate soil environments. Almost all individuals of&nbsp;C. elegans&nbsp;are female hermaphrodites, and a small minority, around one in a thousand, are true males.&nbsp;The basic anatomy of&nbsp;C. elegans&nbsp;includes a mouth,&nbsp;pharynx,&nbsp;intestine,&nbsp;gonad, and&nbsp;collagenous cuticle.
