Edible Histories Event

This is an online ballot to select 10 participants to smash chocolate sculptures at the Edible Histories Event at St.George’s Bristol. The event will take place 10:30am – 12:30pm on Saturday October 21st 2023.

What

Edible Histories is an arts project by Bristol artist Luke Jerram combining chocolate, history and sculpture.

We are seeking 10 people to come and break up these giant chocolate artworks with hammers and chisels. 10 names will be selected at random from those putting their names forward in this ballot.

The ballot will close at 5pm on Friday 29th September 2023. We will let you know if you have been successful on Monday 2nd October by email and text.

How

10 people to come and break up 5 giant chocolate artworks with hammers and chisels. 2 people will work together on stage, over several minutes to break each sculpture to musical accompaniment.

As well as making for an interesting and memorable morning, you will take some good chunks of chocolate home with you!

Basic training and safety goggles and gloves will be provided. You will be on stage and possibly filmed/photographed by the press and public.

Age Suitability

You must be 18+ and in reasonable enough health to carry out the task.

When

The event takes place 10:30am – 12:30pm on Saturday October 21st 2023.

Where

St George’s Bristol, Great George Street, (off Park Street) Bristol BS1 5RR. See Map

Parking (metered) is generally available on the street out the front, or many bus routes go via Park Street. There are also cycle stands on Great George Street.

You must make your own way to/from the venue on this date.
